Whether they are learning the fundamental movements, love to learn new sports or practicing a sport they’ve loved for years, there’s something for everyone. This year National Fitness day is on Wednesday 25th September, and we can’t wait to promote activity!
Here's our 8 fitness top tips:
1. Work out with a friend
People who have a workout partner are more likely to stick to their fitness routine
2. Remember to have rest days
Rest days gives your body the time it needs to repair and improve
3. Stay motivated
Don’t be disheartened by not seeing fast results, it takes around 12 weeks for your body to notice measurable changes
4. Be a good role model
Parents who exercise often, tend to inspire their children to be active too
5. Be active wherever you can
Remember to take the stairs instead of the lift or get off the bus a stop early. Any activity is good activity, and these habits contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
6. Track your progress
It’s a great idea to track your progress on your fitness journey, it can be motivating to see how much you’ve improved e.g. completing a 5k run faster
7. Stay hydrated
Don’t forget to stay hydrated when working out. Drinking plenty of water can help improve stamina and alertness.
8. Have fun!
And most of all, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy your fitness journey!
