The first ever Bucks Primary Duathlon was held on Sunday 12th May 2019 at Wooburn Park. The community event was aimed at Primary school children of all abilities, to promote the importance of physical activity and trying something new, so we were excited to support the event. It was great to see all the children having fun getting active and crossing the finish line with a smile.
One of the many great things about the event was regardless the ability of the child, all that mattered was getting across the finish line, with a ‘’completing not competing’’ ethos.
There were 3 different races on the day, a run, scoot run race and 2 run, bike, run races with varying distances depending on the age of the child.
Also, on offer on the day were different activities for young people to try, varying from rock climbing to squash and gymnastics. These taster sessions allow children to try a range of different sports, in hope to find one they love and continue to develop.
