Water Dodgeball

Water Dodgeball

Looking for a fun inspirational summer activity? Why not try Water Dodgeball! This twist on Dodgeball is a great way to get cooled off in the summer.

For the activity we have used

  • 40 x Foam Balls
  • 2 x Flexi Tubs
  • Marker cones
  • Team Bibs
  • Water

How to set up the game

To set up the activity, split the children into two teams. One team can wear bibs and the other team can be Non-bibs. Using marker cones, mark out the edge of the playing area  and divide the playing area into two. The players must not move outside of the cones. Place a flexi tub on each end of the playing area. Simply, fill with water and add the foam balls.

How to play

The aim of the game is similar to regular dodgeball. Teams start on the edge of the playing area and when the whistle is blown, everyone must run towards the middle and try to grab a ball. The players who collected a ball must run back to the tub and soak the ball with water before being allowed to throw. Playing must aim for the opposing team, if a player successfully hits an opposing player the player is then ‘out’ and must move out of the playing area. The game is complete when one of the teams have got all opposing players out.

Remember, take care when playing water activities. Make sure all obstructions are out of the way and the ground is soft and resistant to slipping. We would recommend playing this game on a large field.
