Fitness Board Games

Keeping fit at home can become boring and tedious, watching the same workout video or doing the same activities. However, why not bring in a board game element to make it both fun and competitive. The fantastic team at PE & School Network have come up with some amazing fitness board game ideas to make home fitness fun. They have taken some of our favourite board games and brought the fun of home fitness to them, and they are great for people of all ages!

Here are two of their best fitness board games that they have created and you can download to play now:

Sportopoly

  • Clear space in your room
  • Dice and an object for game piece

This is a great twist on the traditional Monopoly board game to bring different fitness elements into it. To play this game just get into your sports gear, give yourself lots of space to perform the activities, create a play piece for you, and some dice.

Rules of the game:

  1. Each player must have a different object to use as a game piece
  2. Roll the dice and move your piece and complete the task
  3. Each task completed you earn points of that colour
  4. If end up in Sin Bin you miss a go
  5. First player to either collect 100 points or complete two different sets of colours wins

On of the classics and this version makes it a great workout whilst seeing who can get the top first. Not every square has an exercise so you might be lucky and have some rests. However, if you hit those snakes, you could find yourself having an extended workout! To play, you just need a die, a piece to move for yourself, a yoga mat and some space.

Rules of the game:

  1. Each player must have a different object to use as a game piece
  2. Roll the dice and move your piece and complete the task
  3. Go up ladders if land on the bottom space
  4. Go down snakes if land on the head space
