Supporting Primary School Development

We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with Burnley FC in the Community, the official charity of Burnley Football Club. Brokered with our parent company, Findel, Davies Sports will be the leading the development of relationships with schools within Burnley’s catchment area of both Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Supporting Primary School Development with Burnley FC itC
Burnley FC in the Community (Burnley FC itC) is an award-winning charity which supports, inspires and delivers change in communities through a range of programmes and initiatives. During the 2023/24 season, Burnley FC itC ran more than 50 programmes in the local area, working across 60 schools and engaging with 9,734 young people.
The partnership was showcased at Burnley FC itC Community Day in April where Davies Sports supported with a range of activities in their Fan Zone. This family-friendly area was a great congregation place prior to the championship match with Norwich FC. Welcoming around 3,000 fans, visiting children took part in agility tasks. We even welcomed the Burnley mascot to the stand!

Fundraising for Schools
In addition, members of the Davies Sports team have aided funding raising efforts for the charity in a ‘Burnley Breakout’. Our team member was locked up in Burnley police station until enough money was raised for his release. In total, £1,300 was secured helping to realise the £40k overall fundraising total from participants.
Head of partnerships and fundraising for Burnley FC itC, Ben Bottomley, said: “We are incredibly proud to be launching our partnership with Findel. Together, we work with the majority of primary schools in the local area.
“This partnership makes sense for both of us to make the biggest impact we can together. It will open doors to more opportunities and events for our local schools to take part in and will continue to support us in our mission of changing young lives in the local area.”
Findel is delivering the partnership with Burnley FC itC through the Findel Foundation. The long-term initiative from Findel aims to provide ongoing support to a range of children’s education, wellbeing and environmental causes throughout the UK.
